HAPPY 4TH OF JULY, in this our 100th year of statehood.

The Society has been busy this quarter preparing for reunion days and the "Homesteaders Concert."

The museum has changed most of the displays.  We have purchased new, light weight tables and padded chairs.  With these new changes, along with the new paint and floors, the museum is looking very nice.  Please encourage everyone to come by and visit.

During this quarter, we have received two very nice cash donations.  Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Davidson donated a new digital camera and printer to the museum.  It will be put to good use.  Hilma Holland Sparks donated a complete set of the 1956-57 school papers, "The Panther News."  These are now preserved and on display at the museum.  We are always receiving donations, large or small, and we appreciate them all very much and send our sincere thanks to everyone.

Reunion Days was much better this year with no rain to ruin the festivities.  We had visitors coming through the museum all day Friday and Saturday, visiting and enjoying the displays.

"The Homesteaders" were in concert Friday night.  The Historical Society, in association with the City, County, and local businesses, was pleased to help "Kick Off" the Oklahoma Centennial Celebration.  Patsy Wilson was the leading force and along with other members helped make this a big success.  All profits were given to the new City Park for the benefit of everyone in and around Haskell County.

Laura and Ed Ware made a donation to the Historical Society in memory of Junior Kennedy who passed away June 21st.
